Food on safari is good and plentiful. Vegetarians or others with dietary restrictions can easily be accommodated with advance notice. All meals while on safari are included. However, if you are arriving in advance, staying after your safari, or spending any additional time in cities (e.g., Arusha, Dar es Salaam), you will be responsible for your own meals there. Breakfast is always included in an overnight hotel stay.
Warm/Hot showers will be available throughout your safari, even in the mobile tents. Showering is usually the same as at home, only the water pressure might not be as strong, the temperature may not be as hot, and the water may not be as plentiful. While the larger safari lodges typically offer 24-hour electricity, some smaller camps and lodges often rely on generators for electricity so once the last person in the camp is in bed, the generator is shut down to re-charge overnight. In these instances, solar or battery-powered lamps and/or flashlights are available in your room for light sources during the night
Laundry is readily available at lodges and camps, usually at a cost of $1-$2 per item, although most small upscale camps and lodges include laundry complimentary.
For honeymooners lodges offer intimate romantic candlelight dinner deep in the African bush, to stunning sunrise hot-air balloon flight over the rolling plains followed by a Champagne breakfast.
